Our elegant horse was on my front porch, and has developed a bay-colored patina since the recent rains. He greeted our friends, clients and colleagues as they entered the house. He has been in a couple of shows, and for years was a beautiful part of our living room in our Woodside house. Our dog Hasso circled around the horse and barked at him until he figured out he was made of steel and bronze, and Hasso was suddenly sheepish and embarrassed, as though we had tricked him.
